Aerial work platforms

Aerial work platforms are often used to handle routine maintenance in buildings with high ceilings,  but can be used for a number of  other tasks with high, hard to reach areas. For example, aerial lifts can be used to repair lines on telephone poles, paint trim on large buildings or two-story homes, raise heavy items to shelves off the ground, replace traffic lights and trim tree branches.
There are many types of aerial work platforms to choose from, with each suited to different applications.

• Scissor lifts use crossed supports that extend and reach upward. As the crossed braces rise, the platform at to the top of the braces does too. Painters often use this type of work platform.

• Cherry pickers and bucket trucks are types of aerial lifts that have a bucket platform on top of a long arm. As the arm raises, the platform rises. These are often used by utility workers.

• Boom lifts have a hydraulic arm that extends out to raise the platform.

Aerial work platforms have many useful applications and are an integral piece of equipment at many locations and in many applications.
