A
forklift is a piece of industrial equipment used to move large
or heavy materials, typically on pallets, via heavy-duty steel
forks. There are several companies that sell forklifts, including
Clark Material Handling Company, one of the first companies
to develop the lift in the 1920s. Forklifts are sold new,
used, refurbished and reconditioned to meet the demands of
any budget, and are indispensable for any warehouse, industrial
yard or storehouse that moves large material frequently.
Pricing is similar to cars, where the brand is going to play
into the cost of the lift, and usually the more you pay, the
better the quality and reliability. Higher priced models have
better technology, hold up better under harsh conditions and
are more dependable. In addition, you need to determine how
often you will use your lift; if it is more than four hours
a day, then you will most likely want to invest in a new forklift
rather than used. There are a host of features to choose from,
including the engine type, tires, safety features and capacity.
You will also have to decide how to purchase the lift. Since
they are quite expensive, almost all forklifts are financed,
although leasing is sometimes an option.
